Deity Inspiration - Manjushri
Manjushri, "Gentle Glory" or "Sweet Splendor" in Sanskrit, is revered as one of the most important Bodhisattvas (enlightened Beings) in Tibetan Buddhism. He is known for embodying the highest ideals of wisdom, compassion, and spiritual realization and serves as a source of guidance and inspiration for practitioners seeking to attain the ultimate goal of Buddhahood (enlightenment) for the benefit of all sentient beings.
With his iconic double-edged flaming sword on his right hand, he holds a lotus flower in his left hand on which there is a scripture of Prajñāpāramitā Sutra, the text of Great Wisdom. The sword represents the sharpness of wisdom that can cut the root of ignorance (of who we truly are) with its luminous rays.
This month, notice the themes and symbolism of Manjushri in your life:
Can you cultivate compassion under the most unlikely circumstances?
Can you remind yourself of your Divine nature when you find yourself forgotten?
As you bring synchronicity in your own life, likely you will also effect surrounding sentient Beings in our collective existence, through compassion for yourself and others.
